What You’ll Do
As Medical Director, you will:
Lead Clinical Operations
Oversee day-to-day medical operations across specialty and emergency services
Support high-quality, consistent patient care and efficient clinical workflows
Partner with Chiefs of Service and leadership to optimize coverage, caseload distribution, and service coordination
Identify opportunities to improve processes, staffing, and resource utilization
Support and Develop the Veterinary Team
Coach, mentor, and support Chiefs of Service and Associate Veterinarians
Guide performance management, onboarding, development, and conflict resolution
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and lifelong learning
Help ensure strong doctor scheduling and sustainable workloads across a 24/7 hospital
Drive Quality and Innovation
Support patient safety and quality improvement efforts
Help implement medical protocols, technologies, and hospital initiatives
Serve as a bridge between frontline clinicians and executive leadership
Partner across departments to strengthen communication and elevate the client and patient experience
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a seasoned veterinary leader who brings:
DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree
5+ years in a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital
5+ years of veterinary leadership experience
Internship training or equivalent experience required (residency/board certification preferred)
Strong clinical judgment and operational mindset
Experience leading teams, improving workflows, and managing change
A collaborative, solutions-focused leadership style grounded in compassion and accountability
