Advantary Capital Partners is expanding its Life Sciences investment team.
We have substantial active deal flow, current mandates, and a strong pipeline across biotech, pharma, medtech, diagnostics, digital health, healthcare services, and enabling technologies. We are looking for an experienced Life Sciences Partner who can help us source, evaluate, execute, close, and support high-quality investment opportunities.
This is a partner-level role for someone who wants meaningful economics, real ownership, and the opportunity to help build a growing investment platform.
The Role
As Partner, Life Sciences, you will work across the full investment lifecycle: origination, screening, diligence, structuring, negotiation, closing, and post-close portfolio support.
You will be expected to bring strong domain judgment, high-quality relationships, execution discipline, and the ability to move opportunities from first conversation to funded close.
This is not a traditional salaried employee role. It is a true performance-based partner role with participation in current revenue, firm equity, management fees, and carried interest.
What You Will Do
Source qualified life sciences opportunities through your founder, executive, investor, strategic, KOL, and operator networks.
Evaluate companies quickly and rigorously across market need, scientific risk, clinical evidence, regulatory pathway, reimbursement dynamics, commercialization readiness, team quality, and capital strategy.
Lead company-facing processes, including discovery calls, pitch meetings, diligence coordination, Q&A, internal investment committee preparation, and transaction follow-through.
Drive deal execution, including positioning, structure, terms, timeline management, investor alignment, and coordination with counsel and other stakeholders.
Support portfolio companies post-close through strategic guidance, introductions, hiring support, follow-on financing preparation, governance support, and board-level collaboration where appropriate.
Collaborate with Advantary partners across capital syndication, diligence, operating support, and value creation.
Maintain disciplined CRM, pipeline, and process hygiene.
Who We Are Looking For
You should have 7+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
Life sciences venture capital, growth equity, private equity, corporate development, investment banking, strategic finance, or senior operating leadership in a life sciences company.
You should also bring:
A strong and active network across life sciences founders, CEOs, executives, investors, strategics, KOLs, and capital providers.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate scientific, clinical, regulatory, reimbursement, commercial, and execution risk.
Experience running or materially contributing to deal processes, including diligence, positioning, negotiation, structuring, and closing.
Clear judgment, precise communication, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage sophisticated stakeholders under time pressure.
Comfort operating in a partner model where compensation is tied to origination, execution, fees, and portfolio outcomes.
Highly Valuable Background
Prior board, board observer, or formal portfolio support experience.
Deep subsector expertise in areas such as oncology, neuro, cardiovascular, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, therapeutics, healthcare services, tools, platforms, or enabling technologies.
Experience with SPVs, syndicates, co-investments, structured financings, or investor syndication.
Existing access to high-quality life sciences companies seeking growth capital, strategic support, transaction support, or investment partners.
Compensation + Economics
This is a partner role with:
participation in current revenues
firm equity
management fees
and carried interest.
The upside is uncapped and tied to measurable contribution, including origination, execution, fees, and portfolio outcomes. There is no base compensation.
This structure is best suited for a senior professional who has confidence in their network, judgment, execution ability, and desire to build long-term enterprise value as part of a partner-led platform.
