Title: Clinical Reviewer( Licensec Therapist)
Location: Remote but MUST reside in California, and they need a CA LIC as a Social Worker or LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC
Terms of Employment
• W2 Contract, 3 Months
• Location: 100% Remote
• Schedule: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday), 6–8 hours per day. Earliest start: 6:00 AM PT.

Overview
As a Clinical Reviewer, you will play a vital role in the healthcare system by reviewing inpatient psychiatric facility charts. You will evaluate documentation for patients admitted under 5150/5151 status (danger to self/others or grave disability) to determine medical necessity for continued inpatient stays. This is a perfect opportunity for licensed clinicians seeking supplemental, weekend-only remote work.
The purpose of this position is to utilize clinical expertise to review medical records against appropriate criteria in conjunction with contract requirements
Responsibilities:
• Review inpatient psychiatric facility charts within the Atrezzo system.
• Determine if patients meet medical necessity criteria to approve continued treatment days.
• Communicate via email regarding missing documentation or clarity needs.
• Assures accuracy and timeliness of all applicable review type cases within contract requirements.
• Assesses, evaluates, and addresses daily workload and queues; adjusts work schedules daily to meet the workload demands of the department.
• In collaboration with Supervisor, responsible for quality monitoring activities.
• Maintains current knowledge base related to review processes and clinical practices.
• Functions as providers' liaison for customer service issues and problem resolution.
• Performs all applicable review types as workload indicates.
• Fosters positive and professional relationships with internal and external customers.
• Attends training and scheduled meetings for current/updated information.
• Cross trains to provide flexible workforce to meet client/customer needs.
• Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
• Knowledge of medical records, medical terminology, and disease processes required.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Required Skills & Experience
• Active and unsuspended California license: LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
• Must currently reside and work in the state of California.
• Demonstrated experience in Utilization Review (UR) or Quality Management.
• Ability to complete training during Monday–Friday business hours (flexible timing available).
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for chart reviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience using the Atrezzo system.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric settings or crisis intervention.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to meet high-volume productivity metrics.
