Hiteco, a division of SCM Group North America, is seeking a
skilled Field Service Technician with hands-on electro-spindle experience
to support the repair, rebuild, and performance of high-precision industrial components.
This is a specialized role focused on
spindle teardown, rebuild, and diagnostics —ideal for technicians with experience in high-speed rotating equipment and precision machinery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in electro-spindles
Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild high-speed spindle components
Perform testing and validation to ensure units meet performance standards
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Operate diagnostic tools and shop equipment safely and effectively
Document repairs, maintenance activities, and service updates
Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding repair status and technical issues
Travel up to 50% for on-site service, including U.S. and occasional international travel
Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
Experience repairing or rebuilding electro-spindles or similar high-speed rotating equipment
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical system
Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
Familiar with use of specialized electronic and mechanical test equipment such as: multimeters, oscilloscopes, deadweight testers, pneumatic calibrators, electric-motor diagnostic equipment, and other associated instrumentation used to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of electro-spindles.
