Position Overview
The Basebuild (CSA) Superintendent is responsible for field execution and oversight of all Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) scopes on a semiconductor manufacturing facility (fab) construction project. This role ensures that basebuild work—including site development, concrete, structural steel, building envelope, and architectural systems—is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
This position plays a critical role in coordinating CSA work with tool install, MEP systems, and cleanroom construction in a highly technical, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily field operations for all CSA activities including earthwork, foundations, structural systems, exterior enclosure, and architectural finishes
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and vendors to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project schedule milestones
Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and other superintendents (MEP, cleanroom, tool install) to manage interface points
Enforce strict safety standards and promote a zero-incident culture in accordance with company and site-specific safety programs
Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and semiconductor facility standards
Drive schedule performance by identifying constraints, mitigating risks, and implementing recovery plans when needed
Conduct daily site walks, inspections, and coordination meetings with subcontractors
Review and manage look-ahead schedules (3-week / 6-week planning)
Support constructability reviews and proactively identify design or coordination issues
Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, RFIs, and progress tracking
Ensure readiness for inspections, testing, and commissioning activities related to CSA scope
Assist in turnover and handoff processes to downstream trades and systems teams
Qualifications
8–15+ years of construction experience, with a strong focus on CSA scopes
Proven experience as a Superintendent on large-scale industrial, semiconductor, or advanced technology projects
Demonstrated experience working on semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, or mission-critical facilities strongly preferred
Deep knowledge of concrete, structural steel, building envelope systems, and architectural finishes
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
Experience managing multiple subcontractors in a fast-track construction environment
Familiarity with Lean construction practices and pull planning is a plus
OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain)
Preferred Experience
Prior work on semiconductor fab projects or similar high-tech manufacturing facilities
Experience with highly controlled environments, including vibration, cleanliness, and precision tolerances
Exposure to integrated project delivery (IPD) or design-build delivery methods
Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6)
