Summary

DAWSON is seeking an Environmental Scientist II for our Conservation and Planning team to assist in managing and controlling various aspects of the professional services support projects, up to and including program management support, data collection and analysis, audit readiness, training, workforce staffing, process maps and standardization models, distribution optimization and analysis, as well as multimedia design. An Environmental Scientist II will assist the management team for the duration of the project

Duties And Responsibilities

Assists in managing and controlling various matters relating to project performance
Coordinates assigned project staff
Continues to develop subject matter expertise through training
Generates quality of work product in accordance with company quality control protocols
Prepares written reports and other documents necessary for the completion of specific projects
Tracks project schedules ensuring on-time performance
Develop leadership qualities
Cultivates and maintains the necessary contacts with clients
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Ensures adherence to all safety practices and procedures while performing tasks in all work areas
Other duties as assigned
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently as well as with supervision

Supervisory Responsibilities

Depending on experience may indirectly supervise employees within the department
Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; and resolving problems

Qualifications

Have a Bachelor's Degree
Have a minimum of 4 years of specialized experience supporting the management of complex projects OR 2 years of specialized experience in supporting the management of complex projects and a Bachelor’s Degree in program/project management, engineering, logistics, distribution or supply chain management, finance, accounting, or business administration/management disciplines
Demonstrate the ability to carry out established planning and program execution functions for designated projects to ensure program deliverables meet the performance requirements and objectives.
Demonstrate the ability to develop strategies to attain schedule and performance goals.
Demonstrate excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be able to review and edit reports and proposals
Ability to delegate work and handle multiple projects as well as multiple delegated projects
Familiarity with environmental regulations including but not limited to the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, and applicable state and local environmental regulations
Must possess a valid driver's license
Able to pass a federal and state background check for project-based assignments

Travel Requirements

Periodic business travel is required and is expected about 25% of the year: overnight travel is required. Travel is anticipated to consist of field work at project sites, client visits, and work at

partner offices across the United States. The position may involve outdoor fieldwork at sites across the United States. Fieldwork may require candidate to walk over uneven terrain up to 8 hours a day and carry

heavy equipment. Candidates are subject to “fit for duty” baseline physical and subject to medical monitoring protocols.
