Summary:
We are
seeking a full- time
Sanitation Superintendent
in Sioux City, Iowa, to lead the full sanitation program for the plant, warehouse, and facility grounds. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations, overseeing daily sanitation operations, and partnering cross‑functionally to maintain a safe, sanitary, and audit‑ready environment. The Superintendent will play a critical role in supporting plant operations, HACCP, Quality, Engineering, and third‑party sanitation partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full leadership and direction for the plant’s sanitation program, ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal, and company food safety standards.
Evaluate sanitary conditions visually and analytically, identify risks, and prioritize corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with Operations, HACCP, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality Control, Purchasing, sanitation vendors, and third‑party auditors to resolve sanitation issues.
Oversee sanitation activities outlined in the
Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) .
Assess and validate sanitation procedures, including
CIP systems , for effectiveness.
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate sanitation performance to plant and corporate leadership.
Ensure adherence to
lockout/tagout
safety procedures.
Provide leadership and direction to sanitation teams and contracted sanitation providers.
Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of
HACCP , sanitation principles, and food safety regulatory requirements.
Ability to interpret sanitation, safety, and operational documentation.
Experience in
sanitation leadership ; meat/pork processing required
