
Network Migration Consultant (Boston)

Our client is seeking Network Migration Technicians to support a series of network transition initiatives across independent office environments. This role will focus on assisting offices that operate outside of the standard technology package, requiring customized networking support and hands-on guidance throughout migration efforts.
The ideal candidate will bring strong networking expertise, particularly with firewall technologies, and the ability to work directly with end users in small to mid-sized office settings.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate directly with office stakeholders to schedule and execute network migrations from existing firewall solutions to new environments
Assess current network configurations and document technical setups for transition planning
Provide guidance and technical support to offices during the migration process, ensuring a smooth transition to new networking solutions
Act as a trusted advisor to office teams, offering best practices for network setup and optimization
Monitor migration progress and follow up to ensure timelines and project milestones are met
Ensure proper decommissioning and disposal of legacy networking equipment in accordance with established procedures
Collaborate with internal teams to share updates, escalate issues, and support overall project delivery
Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular status updates within project tracking systems
Support troubleshooting efforts during and after migrations to resolve networking-related issues
Triage general technical requests and route them to appropriate support teams as needed
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience with networking infrastructure, including routers and firewalls
Strong experience with firewall technologies, particularly Check Point (required)
Familiarity with additional networking vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar platforms
Solid understanding of core networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
Experience supporting small office or distributed office environments
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues in production environments
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively support non-technical stakeholders
Experience with task tracking and project coordination tools
Preferred Skills
Experience working in client-facing or field support roles
Ability to manage multiple concurrent migrations or projects
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
