Summary
The Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for initiating the can-making process (set up, operation and maintenance of the cupping press, body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems).
Key Activities
Inspect, upend, and load coils onto the unwinder, ensuring proper feeding through the lubricator and into the press.
Perform setup, maintenance, and operation of the upender, unwinder, lubricator, and cupping press.
Oversee the setup, maintenance, and operation of body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.
Monitors and record can specifications in the system, including flange wall thickness, mid-wall thickness, dome depth, and trim can height.
Conduct visual inspections and cup weight checks to ensure compliance with production standards.
Take corrective measures as necessary to maintain quality.
Assist in other production areas as needed to ensure can flow through the plant.
Complete required paperwork, including coil logs, check sheets, and other documentation.
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Exhibits effective problem-solving and troubleshooting methods.
Basic knowledge of how electrical components work.
Ability to use precision measurement devices (i.e. calipers, micrometers and dial indicators).
Educations & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in front-end development or maintenance.
Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
