Senior Environmental Engineer
focused on waste and water compliance for its site in the
Longview, WA
area. This role is centered on ensuring regulatory compliance while strengthening environmental programs tied to wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste management. This person will be tasked with owning key environmental permits and acting as a technical resource to site leadership and operations. The Role
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to hazardous waste, industrial wastewater, and stormwater programs, including permitting and routine inspections
Plan, oversee, and review wastewater discharge monitoring, waste characterization, and environmental sampling activities
Prepare and submit required environmental reports and maintain compliance data and tracking systems
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and local authorities, supporting audits, inspections, and permit renewals
Develop, implement, and continuously improve waste and water programs, including training for operations and management teams
The Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
At least five years of environmental compliance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
At least three years of expertise in RCRA, Large Quantity Generator hazardous waste management, and NPDES wastewater management
Strong working knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, industrial wastewater pretreatment, stormwater, and spill prevention programs
Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and managing permits, inspections, and corrective actions
Strong communication skills with the ability to identify program gaps and drive practical, compliant solutions
