
Strategic Sourcing Manager - IT (Santa Clara County)

Briarlake Partners is a strategic sourcing focused recruiting firm. We are working with a global manufacturing client seeking a Category Manager to join our client's global procurement organization. This role will develop category strategies and run strategic sourcing projects for IT categories (hardware, software, cloud, and services).
This role requires being in the Santa Clara, CA office two to three days a week.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
8+ years of strategic sourcing experience with a focus on IT / technology categories
Building category strategies
Contract negotiation and contract management
Comfort and rigorous process in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling
Broad knowledge of risk management practices and principles
Sound fiscal knowledge base in order to develop clear, concise measurements for agreements that are tied to strategic goals and demonstrate value to the enterprise
Strong relationship-building/relationship management skills
Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, etc...
BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related; MBA or equivalent preferred
