The UNC Department of Neurology is seeking a Pediatric Epileptologist to join its growing and collaborative team.
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical care in pediatric neurology and epilepsy
Participate in inpatient general child neurology and epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) services
Interpret routine EEGs, stereo-EEGs, evoked potentials, and long-term video EEGs
Participate in pre-surgical diagnostic evaluations for pediatric epilepsy
Conduct pediatric neurology and epilepsy subspecialty outpatient clinics
Teach and supervise residents and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations
Clinical Expertise
Experience with multimodal epilepsy surgery diagnostic evaluations
Planning and interpretation of stereo-EEG for seizure localization
Collaborative surgical planning with pediatric neurosurgery
Familiarity with advanced surgical and neuromodulation approaches, including Laser interstitial thermal ablation (LITT) and Deep brain stimulation (DBS) for pediatric patients
Working knowledge of high-density scalp EEG recordings
Experience with subdural grid and depth electrode stereotactic techniques for pre-surgical epilepsy evaluation

MD, DO, or equivalent degree
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Child Neurology residency
Completion of an accredited Epilepsy fellowship

ABPN Board Certified in Child Neurology
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Epilepsy
