Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson
is seeking qualified
physician-scientists
to join at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track or tenured).
We are seeking physician-scientists (MD, DO, or MD/PhD) with an active clinical, translational and/or basic science research program. Research programs in any area of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism will be considered. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in islet biology, glucose metabolism and obesity. Priority will be given to those whose research interests align programmatically with existing faculty within the division, department or broader University of Arizona research community. Applicants are expected to provide clinical care for adult endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism patients with research and clinical effort determined by rank and funding.
Highly competitive startup packages, resources and laboratory space will be provided.
The Department of Medicine and College of Medicine - Tucson provides a rich and collaborative environment for biomedical research including access to numerous shared facilities and cores. College of Medicine - Tucson is also adjacent to the main University of Arizona campus, which houses Colleges of Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Information Science, Veterinary Medicine amongst others. Clinical partnership with Banner Health, the 4th largest non-profit healthcare system in the US, positions the Banner-University Medical Center Tucson as the lead academic health care provider system in southern Arizona.
To qualify, physician-scientists must be Board certified or eligible in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. The rank of appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
