
Senior FP&A Specialist

This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. ABB has announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. The position reports to the Local Product Group Controller and FP&A Lead. Supports cost analysis, accounting and financial planning activities for the ABB Robotics organization (including fixed assets and real estate) within the assigned function, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, month‑end closing and year‑end closing processes and providing financial insights to support informed decision‑making and improved financial performance.
The work model for the role is hybrid/remote. The ideal candidate will be based in Auburn Hills, MI or Cary, NC.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze transactions to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with ABB Robotics Accounting and Reporting Guidelines.
Execute internal controls, maintaining complete audit trails and documentation; prepare and update SOPs as required.
Maintain accounting records for capital projects, and support the supply chain team with purchase order processing.
Monitor accounts payable and track payments for assigned cost centers.
Participate in period‑end close activities, including journal entries, master data maintenance, ledger support, and reporting.
Support financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, and perform balance sheet and subledger account reconciliations and analysis.
Track cost center expenses and provide analytical support and training to managers.
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
Deliver routine and ad‑hoc financial reporting as requested by the Local Business Unit Controllers, support cash flow monitoring, and provide support for internal and external audit requests.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years minimum of proven experience related to risk, audit, and finance, or other combination of degree and experience. Real estate and fixed asset desired.
Highly experienced in all facets of Accounting.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
High proficiency in Excel.
Reconciliation experience preferred.
ERP systems experience preferred.
Self‑starter, high capacity to learn, good communicator, and collaborator.
