Position Overview
This role involves hands‑on installation, repair, and modification of commercial door systems and related hardware in field environments. The Field Installer plays a key role in ensuring high‑quality, accurate, and safe installations across a variety of job sites.
What You’ll Do
Install, repair, and modify commercial doors, frames, and architectural hardware systems in field environments
Inspect materials for accuracy, sizing, and readiness before installation
Read and interpret work orders, hardware schedules, and installation instructions
Operate forklifts, stock pickers, and other material handling equipment as needed
Load, unload, and transport doors, frames, hardware, and related materials safely
Troubleshoot on‑site installation challenges and provide real‑time solutions
Identify and resolve work order discrepancies to ensure accurate installation completion
Record job notes, updates, and discrepancies on work orders
Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse staff, and customers regarding job status and issues
Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites while following all company and customer safety standards
Use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, hammers, grinders, and related equipment
Adapt to changing job site conditions, schedules, and customer needs
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
Experience in mechanical, construction, or installation‑related work preferred
Ability to read and interpret work orders, installation instructions, or blueprints
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in field environments
Experience using hand and power tools
Strong attention to detail and job site organization
Commitment to safety and adherence to company and customer standards
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and variable job site conditions
Valid driver's license with strong driving record - must be insurable by company insurance program
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating forklifts, stock pickers, or similar material handling equipment
Basic MIG welding experience for light gauge materials
Even if you don't yet meet all the experience or qualifications, we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and are happy to provide training.
