New Teacher Orientation will be held Aug 11‑13, 2026. The teaching contract is 187 days. External candidates may bring up to 17 years of K‑12 teaching experience.
Job Goal
To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for physical, intellectual, and social‑emotional growth and maturation.
Essential Functions
Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students.
Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
Supervises students in a variety of school‑related settings.
Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
Assesses the accomplishments of students regularly and provides progress reports as required.
Creates daily lesson plans sufficient for a substitute teacher to take over the class if necessary.
Qualifications
Valid North Dakota teaching certificate.
Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Requirements
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and up to 17 years of K‑12 teaching experience.
