Local Box Truck Driver Needed
Pay is:
$20.43/hr. + OT
Job Summary:
The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry‑leading levels of service to clients while taking care of all customer document destruction needs. This includes transporting supplies and materials, safely loading and unloading the delivery vehicle, and ensuring all cargo is securely secured before transport. The driver must operate in accordance with company policy and all local and federal laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform on‑site/off‑site document destruction of confidential information.
Conduct pre/post‑trip checks and driver check‑in on assigned truck; report maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher.
Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and equipment damage.
Comply with all local, provincial and federal driver fitness and hours‑of‑service laws; complete and maintain DOT logs as required.
Maintain high security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes, ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are locked.
Service accounts using a handheld device, ensuring consular/containers are barcoded, locations updated, and accuracy of type and quantity verified.
Manage assigned routes to ensure customers’ confidential material is collected and serviced timely and accurately.
Handle and respond to all customer problems and inquiries expediently for the best interest of both the customer and Shred‑it.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably driving box trucks and managing routes.
Current, personal driver’s license (Class 5) with an excellent driving record.
B. Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
