
Extrusion Technician

Responsibilities
Set-ups and tear downs of extrusion lines including essential paperwork
Starts extrusion lines and adjusts process to meet specifications.
Communicates with Manufacturing Engineer on all tool damage and wear
Extruder and line cleaning and inspection, including tooling.
Basic trouble shooting techniques to bring product back to specification.
Trains operators in line operation and inspection.
Advanced trouble shooting techniques.
Can identify root cause of extrusion problems and fix, ie material, equipment, process
Performs simple maintenance of equipment
Does not need supervision to run entire process and complete extrusion orders
Completes all paperwork with minimal to no errors.
Works with NPD to run new product trials
Works with NPD to create process characterization and solve advanced technical extrusion problems.
Works with Manufacturing Engineers to determine root cause and solutions.
Works with Manufacturing Engineers to write up work instructions and assess process stability and cost savings.
Education and Experience
High School Degree or equivalent
Silicone or Plastic extrusion or related experience
Level 1: 2 years Silicone or Plastic Extrusion experience
Level 2: 5 years Silicone or Plastic Extrusion experience
Level 3: 10 years Extrusion, set‑up and training experience
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
Ability to demonstrate adequate job knowledge to deliver a world class performance
Ability to challenge oneself to consistently meet all goals and deadlines
Willingness to strive for excellence by producing work that is free of errors and mistakes
Desire to delight both customers and coworkers by offering encouragement, fostering teamwork and addressing conflict appropriately
Commitment to making improvements company wide
Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office
