Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment and machinery. This position supervises maintenance mechanics, coordinates preventive maintenance activities, responds to equipment breakdowns, and works closely with management to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise, lead, and support maintenance mechanics in the repair and upkeep of production equipment and machinery.

Plan, assign, and monitor daily maintenance tasks to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.

Oversee preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines and equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns.

Ensure repairs are completed quickly and efficiently to minimize production downtime.

Inspect completed work to confirm quality, safety, and compliance with company standards.

Coordinate with managers and production staff to schedule regular maintenance and repairs.

Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.

Monitor inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies; ensure shop areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked.

Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance employees to improve team performance and technical skills.

Enforce safety policies, procedures, and proper use of equipment and tools.

Recommend improvements or modifications to equipment and maintenance processes to increase efficiency and reliability.

Assist with machine installations, test runs, and equipment modifications as needed.

Perform hands‑on mechanical work when necessary to support the team and operations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment repair.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with managers and production staff.

Commitment to workplace safety and compliance.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Education and Experience

Some vocational training, community college coursework, or equivalent experience in maintenance, mechanics, or a related field required.

Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.

Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to inspect, repair, and service machinery.

Must be able to visually inspect machines and equipment.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
