Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering Design Organization (EDO) in California. The role involves supporting a wide variety of public and private clients across multiple industries, focusing on civil design project delivery, including execution and task delegation.
Location & Hybrid Work Model
Based out of any of our California offices: Irvine, San Diego, Long Beach, Concord, Santa Rosa, Roseville, Sacramento, Fresno, San Luis Obispo, Redding, or Roseville.
Hybrid model: three days a week in-office collaboration combined with flexibility.
Responsibilities
Design engineering solutions and validation process to meet design brief, ensuring conformity to organizational and regulatory standards.
Contribute to analysis, drafting, and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications within own discipline.
Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs through best‑suited approaches.
Work within knowledge management systems to deliver preset outcomes for assigned responsibilities.
Develop personal capabilities via assessment, development planning, coaching, and obtaining professional accreditation.
Carry out inspections to evaluate quality of engineering work and specify remedial work for conformance with regulations.
Identify shortcomings in processes and use change management to improve them.
Manage relationships with small clients and support senior colleagues with larger key clients.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
CA Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in civil site design and related disciplines.
Knowledge of site & access improvements, utility layout, grading and stormwater drainage.
Experience with General Utilities: Stormwater, Sanitary Sewer, Recycled Water, Electrical.
Knowledge of accessibility design preferred.
Entitlement / land use planning and permitting processes.
Ability to assemble plan specs and estimates (PS & E).
Storm Water design: Hydrology, hydraulics (closed conduit and open channel flow), hydromodification, storm water quality.
NAVFAC experience is a plus.
Design Build Experience is a plus.
Salary
Salary range: $83,000 - $138,000 based on experience.
