
Trauma Coordinator - Days - FT - Orange

Position Summary
The Trauma Coordinator oversees the collection of trauma patient data information relating to the UCI Medical Center Trauma Service. They will use the Process Improvement Structure to resolve identified problems and enhance trauma patient care and trauma system operations. The role utilizes coding knowledge to abstract data from patient records for analysis and trending. Additionally, the coordinator participates in clinical education for physicians, nurses, and pre‑hospital personnel, as well as public education.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications
Understanding of performance improvement processes
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
Minimum 5 years of experience caring for trauma patients in either the Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department
Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
MSN degree
Knowledge of trauma registry usage and injury coding
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support
Pediatric Advanced Life Support
