We are seeking a detail-oriented
Staff Accountant II
to perform and coordinate accounting duties with a primary focus on revenue recognition under ASC 606. This role is responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audits, and supporting additional accounting initiatives and special projects as assigned.
To be successful in this role, the Staff Accountant II should have a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), excellent analytical skills, and advanced Excel proficiency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead all aspects of revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, with a focus on POS-based transactions
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned entities and accounts
Review service and product revenue streams to ensure appropriate revenue treatment
Prepare monthly revenue reconciliations, including POS system to general ledger tie-outs
Ensure monthly activities are recorded accurately and timely and assist with preparation of related financial statements
Analyze sales activity related to deferred revenue
Prepare monthly close entries related to revenue, including adjustments and reclassifications
Maintain revenue-related schedules and supporting documentation
Research and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues
Review and process corporate card transactions
Support accounting activities related to acquisitions, as assigned
Assist with annual audits
Support improvements to revenue processes, internal controls, and POS data flow
Perform special projects or other accounting duties, as assigned
