Job Summary
Provides personal financial counseling services to service members and families at military installations. Duties include one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, workshops, and referrals, with both in‑person and authorized virtual support following Department of Defense protocols.

Responsibilities

Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families.

Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.

Develop and distribute informational financial materials.

Coordinate, publicize, and deliver personal financial management classes and workshops covering military lifecycle events such as arrival, deployment, and career milestones.

Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.

Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods when authorized.

Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.

Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervisory meetings and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Participate in regular in‑service training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.

Perform any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, or associate degree plus 4 years of financial counseling experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience.

Minimum 3+ years of financial counseling experience.

Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred if required by contract.

Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.

Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Must be able to work on‑site at the specified location.

Salary & Benefits
Base salary range: $58,440 – $93,500 annually. Actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, and location. May be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life, voluntary, and other benefits.
