
Mechanical Engineering Internship

Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Interns to join our team in the Energy Storage industry. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support our team in the development and optimization of energy storage systems. You will work closely with our mechanical engineering team to design, analyze, and test mechanical components and systems, and assist in the development of new technologies. This is a great opportunity for rapid hands‑on learning, and freedom to innovate and expand technical skillsets in a rapid fashion.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in conducting research, gathering data, and performing analysis to support engineering projects
Collaborate with team members to develop designs, prototypes, or solutions
Support personnel in regular ceramics processing at an innovative scale
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to ensure quality and functionality
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations
Participate in meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes and outcomes
Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working in the engineering environment
Requirements/Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Proficient in CAD software and simulation tools
Familiarity with mechanical testing and validation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
Preferred proficiency in Solidworks, Python, Arduino, and Microsoft suite
Strong comfortability working in an ambiguous environment
Duration
This is a full‑time internship position for 90 days, starting approximately mid‑June 2026 and ending approximately mid‑September 2026. Opportunities for employment continuation can be discussed at the conclusion of the internship and is not guaranteed.
Location
100% on‑site in our San Diego office located in east Sorrento Valley (92121).
Pay
Bachelor’s: $30/hr
Master’s: $32/hr
