Summary of Duties
Performs general manual labor tasks including basic shipboard installation or fabrication shop assistance, running errands, sweeping, loading, lifting, and moving equipment or material. Periodically required to lift moving equipment up to and including 50 pounds. Works under direct supervision following clear instructions. May be assigned duties and responsibilities of other positions for which qualifications are met.
Specific Duties
Assist in storage and staging of tools and material; transport tools/material to worksite; load and unload vehicles; general clean‑up and housekeeping.
Cutting and grinding metal.
Standing fire watch.
Pulling cable.
Heavy lifting of tools, material, or equipment.
Travel outside the local area may be required.
Overtime is routinely required but not guaranteed.
Perform other assignments as needed.
Education / Training
High‑school diploma or GED may be required.
Basic understanding of standard power tools and ability to read and follow simple instructions.
Security Clearance
Clearance up to Secret level may be required.
U.S. citizenship required.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Climbing several flights of stairs.
Performing tasks in confined spaces.
Work onboard naval vessels; may involve stooping, climbing, walking.
Work outdoors; subject to temperature variations, loud noise, and physical hazards.
