Maintenance Repairman 2 - Hickory Run State Park Complex

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will be responsible for providing skilled work in a variety of the building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry trades throughout the Hickory Run State Park Complex. Work locations include Hickory Run State Park, Nescopeck State Park, and Lehigh Gorge State Park. The primary focus for this position will be the Glen Onoko Trail System at Lehigh Gorge State Park and the rehabilitation and upkeep of trails. Projects will involve construction, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, equipment, and natural resources. You will utilize a wide range of hand and power tools and perform preventative maintenance and inspections for vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure safe use and operation.

Within this role, you will serve as a lead worker to semi-skilled laborers, laborers, and other personnel during the completion of projects. Other general maintenance duties may involve welding, repairing automotive equipment, plowing and shoveling snow, cutting storm damaged or hazardous trees, assembling picnic tables, mowing grass, and painting railings, bridges, and washhouses.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment

Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week, with a 30‑minute lunch. Work days and shifts will vary and include holidays, weekends, and evenings.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).

Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement

This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License.

Other Requirements

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
