Position Summary
Kiewit is looking for Crawler 1300 Crane Operators for the I‑65 Central Project located in Louisville, KY.
Responsibilities
Safely hoisting, positioning, and securing materials such as structural steel, precast concrete components, bridge girders, and heavy equipment.
Conduct daily equipment inspections, identify and report mechanical issues, and ensure all equipment is maintained in safe working condition.
Work with riggers, signal persons, and site supervision to execute lifts safely and efficiently.
Adhere to all safety standards, including OSHA regulations and company‑specific safety protocols.
Work in constrained job site conditions, adapt to dynamic requirements typical of highway and bridge construction projects.
Communicate effectively with crew members, respond to hand signals and radio instructions, and demonstrate situational awareness and sound judgment.
Qualifications
Experience operating a variety of cranes, including Telescoping Crawler Cranes, Lattice Boom Cranes, and Rough Terrain Cranes.
Current and valid NCCCO license and all required licenses and qualifications in accordance with federal, state, and project‑specific regulations.
Experience working near active traffic, utilities, and within tight project footprints.
Experience reading lift plans, load charts, and project drawings.
Strong understanding of ground conditions, crane setup requirements, and load stability considerations in roadway and bridge environments.
Ability to pass a pre‑access drug and alcohol test.
Job Details
Mondays through Sundays; dayshift and nightshift.
$41.05 per hour, plus fringe pay on straight time.
Offers contingent on passing a drug and alcohol test.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Constantly move about a construction/industrial site; must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
Operate ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, and scaffolds up to 200 feet; must be able to climb and maintain balance.
Move and work around confined and cluttered places, uneven surfaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
May be required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the site.
Observe and comply with safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.
