Part‑time, 24 hours

Summary
Performs patient care support duties related to environmental, dietary, supplies, transportation, and light maintenance activities. Supports the labor and delivery patient care team by performing multifunctional activities, applying aseptic techniques and principles under the direction of a registered nurse.
Minimum Education
High school level coursework in English grammar and basic mathematics.
Minimum Work Experience
Ability to read and write English and follow written and oral instructions.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with patient care team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods; and/or reduce costs.
Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa to create a patient care environment, which is focused on the need and expectations of the patient, our customer.
Ability to be self‑directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure.
Ability to take initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties (e.g., suggesting innovative ideas and providing feedback on a team’s direction).
Demonstrates flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services as is common with changing reimbursement and managed care targets.
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling and lifting of patients beds, cleaning equipment and materials.
Ability to coordinate communication information for personnel, physicians, and patients.
Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity.

Salary Range
$16.60/hr - $19.92/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
