Job Description and Duties
The Staff Services Management Auditor (SSMA) is an entry‑level classification designated as a training and developmental role under the supervision of the Internal Audit Bureau Chief. The SSMA learns and applies foundational knowledge of internal auditing standards while developing core analytical and auditing skills. The SSMA conducts the least complex audit assignments and assists Associate Management Auditors with more complex audits and review engagements.
Responsibilities
Conduct least complex audit assignments.
Assist Associate Management Auditors with more complex audits and review engagements.
Learn and apply foundational knowledge of internal auditing standards.
Develop core analytical and auditing skills.
Qualifications and Special Requirements
Resume is required and must be included. The position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. Applicants must complete employment history on the application form (STD 678) and submit unofficial transcripts for verification of education. Training and Development assignments may be considered based on availability and will not exceed 24 months. Candidates outside California must provide proof of residence before appointment.
