Job Summary
The

UGE Cable Splicer

is a skilled field position responsible for the repair of electrical underground distribution systems, performing cable splicing functions such as new-to-new or new-to-existing, and rearranging existing cable after placement.

Responsibilities

Splice and rearrange cable pairs.

Open and bond cables.

Place and ground various types of enclosures.

Read splicing print and apply color code to print reading. Dig holes and replace dirt when work is complete.

Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum

High school diploma, or equivalent.

3 years of experience.

Preferred

5 or more years of experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates in a field environment. It routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting, as well as working in inclement weather conditions such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The role is physically active with lifting up to 50 pounds. Clear vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, precise hand‑eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors are required.
