Experienced Structured Cable Estimator
Job Summary:

The Estimator supports sales and projects staff in developing design and engineering solutions for sales opportunities. The Estimator ensures accurate estimates, keeps information up-to-date, and assists with day‑to‑day sales and project activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide complete project engineering, select applicable materials, and define bases for assigning and estimating labor.

Write scope of work and develop cost estimates in response to bid specifications.

Assist the sales organization by attending site‑walks and pre‑bid meetings.

Track all site visits and maintain detailed information of site conditions for use in engineering solutions.

Act as liaison among sales, project management, and operations during project hand‑over for installation.

Monitor alignment of sales price and actual installation costs.

Follow company guidelines on preferred selection of vendors and products.

Work with vendors to secure best solutions, competitive prices, and proper lead‑time on materials.

Provide floor plan takeoffs and project applications per company’s recommended solutions book and technical support personnel.

Ensure all engineering work meets the customer and company quality and safety standards.

Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements according to company training guidelines.

Meet bid schedules and deadlines within a strict timeframe.

Attend and complete job turnover meetings to cover all details and expectations of the project.

Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Min Salary:

USD $60,000.00/Yr.

Max Salary:

USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications
Physical and Mental Requirements:

Self‑motivated with a positive approach and capable of creating, developing, and implementing project process improvements.

Promotes company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.

Proven high skill level interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.

Able to travel within branch and/or regional territory as needed.

Manages multiple projects/estimates with high organization and presentation skills.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in customer interface, serving as liaison between customer and company.

RCDD preferred, but not required.

Structured Cabling industry experience preferred but not required.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).

Complies with company minimum driving standards.

Ability to design, engineer, estimate, and develop written and graphic representations of proposed solutions using company software.

Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, reading, writing, and oral presentation skills.

Minimum years of experience: 4‑6.
