
Assistant Manager: Adventure Center-S

The Adventure Center Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of summer activities, providing leadership and direction to staff in areas including guest service, financial oversight, employee development, equipment and facility management, regulatory compliance, risk management, and training. This role includes general oversight during Manager on Duty shifts and emphasizes strategic planning to proactively guide business decisions. The Assistant Manager will also participate in enterprise-wide initiatives and committees, collaborating with leaders across the resort and broader organization.

Starting Wage: $58,461.98 - $65,358.10

Job Responsibilities
Provide daily operational oversight of the Adventure Center and Dercum Square, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for guests and employees.
Monitor and audit training processes and documentation for all activities.
Design and implement seasonal training programs, ensuring effective execution.
Develop, maintain, and audit operational procedures and documentation, including inspection logs and safety protocols.
Lead daily department meetings, setting clear goals and addressing operational and guest service needs.
Support leadership development for team leads and leads through ongoing feedback and exposure.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations (e.g., USFS, OSHA, ANSI, ASTM, ACCT, IAAPA) to maintain guest and employee safety.
Coordinate staffing and expense management across activities to align with revenue goals.
Create and manage budgets focused on labor and operational expenses; develop business proposals and capital requests to support growth.
Collaborate with other resort departments to maintain facilities and equipment and foster a positive work environment.
Develop and oversee a food and beverage program using the Vail Resorts F&B playbook.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in outdoor recreation, amusement park operations, guest service, and project planning.
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a dynamic operational environment.
Valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in staff management, guest service recovery, scheduling, and time and labor management.
Leadership within outdoor recreation, amusement, or hospitality industries.
Ability to obtain TIPS and ServSafe certifications within 30 days of hire.
Preferred
Post-secondary education.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Coupa, PeopleSoft and Legion.
Heavy equipment experience.
Fluency in English and/or Spanish.
