Engineering Systems Specialist
Location: 203A Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666-2128

Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr

What You'll Do

Lead the development and administration of tools, standards, and workflows that drive engineering excellence.

Administer and support Product Data Management (PDM) systems, including user permissions, vault structure, and automated workflow support.

Maintain the integrity of the drawing vault, managing file organization and strict revision management practices.

Coordinate with IT on system reliability, cybersecurity controls, and handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and export‑controlled data.

Maintain and enforce company drawing standards (formats, title blocks, and naming conventions) consistent with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).

Optimize the ECR/ECO (Engineering Change) process to improve throughput and accuracy.

Develop standardized engineering templates and forms to ensure traceability and consistency across all projects.

Lead the technical onboarding for new engineers and drafters regarding systems, workflows, and data handling.

Act as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PDM troubleshooting and design standard interpretation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field (equivalent technical experience will be considered).

4–8 years supporting engineering organizations, specifically in CAD/PDM administration, design documentation, or configuration management.

Proven experience in regulated industries (aerospace, defense, or naval systems) handling controlled technical data.

Preferred Qualifications

Expert‑level knowledge of SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter, or similar PLM/PDM suites.

Deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and engineering revision control.

Familiarity with CUI, ITAR, CMMC, and export control data handling practices.

Experience managing ECR/ECO workflows and integrating PDM with ERP systems.
