Wave/Select Solder Operator

The Wave / Select Solder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining wave and selective soldering equipment to ensure high-quality soldering of electronic assemblies. This role plays a key part in supporting production efficiency while meeting quality and safety standards.

Job Summary

Set up and operate wave and selective solder machines according to work instructions and production schedules
Load and unload printed circuit boards (PCBs) into soldering equipment
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper solder flow and quality
Inspect soldered assemblies for defects such as bridging, insufficient solder, or cold joints
Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and basic troubleshooting of equipment
Verify materials, flux levels, and solder pot conditions prior to operation
Document production data, defects, and machine performance as required
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Work closely with quality and engineering teams to resolve process issues
Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to follow written work instructions and technical documentation
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
Required Experience and Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing preferred
Experience operating wave or selective solder equipment preferred
Licenses, Certifications, etc.

IPC‑A‑610 certification preferred (or ability to obtain after hire)
J‑STD‑001 certification preferred (or ability to obtain after hire)
