What this job involves
This hands‑on Building Maintenance Technician role is essential to maintaining the peak operational performance of commercial properties under JLL’s management. You will perform skilled repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on complex HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. As a self‑directed professional with a customer‑focused mindset, you will play a critical role in keeping our facilities running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Your technical expertise and proactive approach will directly contribute to tenant satisfaction, operational excellence, and the long‑term value of the properties we manage.
What your day‑to‑day will look like
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems including pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/controls systems, and associated electrical and pneumatic components using industry‑standard tools in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Complete general electrical work such as ballast and bulb replacements, VFD maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting to ensure continuous building operations.
Operate and apply practical knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor, control, and optimize building system performance.
Conduct proactive building inspections to identify maintenance needs, assess equipment condition, and address issues before they evolve into major problems.
Participate in comprehensive safety practices including LOTO procedures, working‑at‑height protocols, confined‑space entry, arc‑flash awareness, and proper PPE usage while ensuring compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines.
Prepare and submit parts purchase requests as needed for repairs and maintenance activities.
Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to tenant concerns, meeting quality standards, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of five years of HVAC/electrical facility‑related work experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems maintenance and repair, including hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building control systems.
Strong understanding of safety protocols including LOTO, working‑at‑height, confined‑space entry, and arc‑flash requirements with a demonstrated ability to recognize, assess, and mitigate risks.
Physical capability to perform demanding maintenance work including bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, standing, reaching, and laying for extended periods; ability to lift 50 lbs and operate scissor lifts/boom lifts.
Proven verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated record of excellent internal and external customer service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
EPA Universal Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs (or ability to obtain within one year of employment).
NFPA 70E certification (company‑provided training available; must obtain within one year of employment).
Proficiency with computers, web‑based applications, and ability to create, modify, and edit processes, procedures, and reports.
Practical experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) operation and troubleshooting.
Self‑starter mentality with ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively identify maintenance needs without direct supervision.

Work Shift
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Estimated compensation for this position
72,800.00 – 83,200.00 USD per year
