Position Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a foam packaging manufacturing operation in St. Petersburg, FL. This facility specializes in custom-engineered protective packaging, including Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and cold-chain solutions for pharmaceuticals and perishable products.
This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment used in foam molding, cutting, and packaging processes. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair foam molding machines, cutting equipment, and packaging lines
Perform preventative maintenance on presses, conveyors, and air systems
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Work with steam systems, boilers, and temperature-controlled equipment used in EPS production
Maintain and repair motors, belts, conveyors, and automated systems
Complete and track maintenance work orders
Assist with equipment changeovers and new equipment installations
Partner with production to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO)
Top Skills / Qualifications
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
Experience with electrical systems (motors, sensors, basic controls)
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and compressed air systems
Experience with steam, heat-based, or molding equipment is a plus
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or equipment manuals
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Strong attention to safety and detail
Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferredExperience in foam, plastics, or packaging manufacturing is a strong plus
Technical training or certifications are a plus
