About Your Role
CMTS seeks a highly motivated Business Analyst I to support financial and accounting operations on large‑scale construction and bond‑funded programs in Los Angeles, CA. The role is responsible for financial reporting, account reconciliation, invoice processing, and compliance with bond and program requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance and experience in fast‑paced, project‑driven environments.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related fields
Experience working with business enterprise or accounting systems
Experience performing historical trend analysis and interpreting results
Experience creating monthly financial reports and analyzing results
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication and presentation skills with all levels of an organization
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to lead projects to successful conclusion
Preferred Qualifications
Bond program experience
Construction program experience
Costpoint and/or Proliance experience
Responsibilities
Reconcile financial accounts and reports; identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner
Prepare and/or review financial statements, reports, and analyses; address and resolve issues
Interface with District staff, internal teams, and external auditors to respond to requests
Identify errors and implement improvements to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Coordinate month‑end and year‑end activities, including accrual processes
Manage journal entries, debit/credit memos, approvals, and reconciliation logs
Approve and release invoices in accordance with accounting procedures
Prepare and review vendor files and supporting documentation for payments
Communicate with construction and professional services vendors as needed
Assist with general contractor payment analysis
Support bond‑related accounting, reporting, and compliance activities
Track deliverables and ensure timely submission of required documentation
Collaborate with accounting and project teams on financial matters
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range
$89,000 – $95,000 annually
