Position Description
Torque by Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mobile Automotive Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Savannah, GA.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $35.00 per hour based on experience
Retention Bonus: $2000 paid every quarter within the first year.
Schedule: Flexible 40-hour work week (weekend premiums apply)
Fuel Card and Company Cell Phone provided
Work site service vehicle provided for mobile technicians

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Professional diploma preferred
Three (3) years or more in classroom training and work experience
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred; Class E noncommercial required
State driver's licence as required
Ability to understand and adhere to company policies, build professional relationships, work independently or as part of a team, demonstrate customer service, strong verbal and written communication, multitask, be highly organised, and manage time effectively
Complete preventive maintenance (PM230 & PM298) within 90 days
Complete Brakes‑Air (BA220 & BA298) within 90 days
Complete Brake mechanics/inspectors FMCS 396.25
Complete Hydraulic Brake (BH220 & BH298) within 90 days
Complete Tire & Wheel TW220 within 90 days
Complete CF609 & A/C training and qualification (AC220 & AC298) within 180 days
Complete Battery Charge and Check, Warranty
Complete HD electrical - DR208 within 90 days
Complete SBTIII trained (SBT220) and SBT Phase 2 within 180 days
Complete OEM on‑line engine courses (minimum 2)
Possess flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Excellent organisational skills
Must drive Ryder vehicles; must pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check including verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, inspect and perform preventative maintenance for non‑contractual customers, and assist higher‑grade specialists with complex diagnostics.
Execute routine vehicle maintenance: tune‑ups, oil changes, tire changes, fuel filter changes, fluid checks, alignments, basic suspension replacement and light/mirror replacements.
Diagnose and repair or replace engine parts: alternators, starters, radiators, injectors, transmissions and other fuel components.
Perform basic diagnostics and hydraulic brake inspections, repairs and replacements.
Operate out of mobile maintenance vehicle and travel to customer yards within the assigned region.
Maintain knowledge of Torque products and services.
Represent Torque/Ryder to establish relationships with customers.
Use Salesforce to document work orders, repair authorisations and notes.
Perform environmental duties such as site inspections, clean‑ups and vehicle chemical handling.
Adhere to all federal/regional and corporate compliance guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
