Job Description
Applications are being accepted for a 7 hour per day Special Education Resource Paraprofessional position at Bellevue West High School. The special education paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The paraprofessional helps students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.
Supervises and works with students both one-on-one and in small groups when needed
Assists the teacher in the classroom
Lifts, gives physical assistance to students as needed
Supports students in the lunchroom, toileting, transportation, and recreational activities throughout the building
Required qualifications: the applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others, must be capable of regularly attending the duties of the position assigned for the duration of the assignment, and is subject to a veterans preference.
Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
