Overview
Truck Driver I
is responsible for delivering products to/from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers in a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The role requires ensuring deliveries meet customer requirements efficiently and that materials are correct and free of damage.
Responsibilities
Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete daily inspection reports.
Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of needed repairs or service.
Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
Load or unload vehicle and ensure all material for each order is correct (quantity and type) and free of damage before departure.
Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
Ensure all documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery, including delivery receipt signed by the customer, packing list, and branch/warehouse manifest.
Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, verify quantities and catalog numbers.
Pick up material from company suppliers.
Support other warehouse duties such as preparing and filling orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What You'll Need
Must attend company driver training in lieu of experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must pass a pre‑employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
Must obtain verification of a non‑expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
Must not have any at‑fault accidents in the past 3 years.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW.
Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Demands
Sit: Must remain in a stationary position – Constantly – at least 51%.
Walk: Must move inside/outside office or work location – Occasionally – up to 20%.
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: Operates a computer and other office machinery – Constantly – at least 51%.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Must crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers – Occasionally – up to 20%.
Climb or balance: Must ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment – Occasionally – up to 20%.
Talk, hear, taste, smell: Must use senses to communicate effectively – Constantly – at least 51%.

Compensation
For the state of California only, the pay is $20.00 to $23.82, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Commission/Bonus Plan: Branch Pool Bonus Plan.
