Job Opportunities
Our coaches are responsible for leading swim team practices, developing workouts, and supporting the growth and development of swimmers across assigned training groups. They conduct workout instruction for ages 5-18 for the swimmers of the City of Crestwood Swim & Dive Team at the Aquatic Center. They attend all swim team functions, including but not limited to practices, meets, and coach/parent meetings. They enforce rules and maintain safety and enjoyment for all swim team participants. They communicate frequently with participants, parents, and team representatives.
Essential Job Functions
Lead and supervise assigned swim team practice groups
Develop and implement structured swim workouts and training plans appropriate for swimmer skill levels
Assist with coordinating swim team practices, instructional programs, and related activities
Support the supervision, training, and development of assistant coaches and instructors
Promote a positive, encouraging team environment that supports swimmer growth and sportsmanship
Assist with swim meet preparation, team events, and related activities
Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff regarding practices, expectations, and program updates
Maintain safe conditions within aquatic program areas and ensure compliance with City safety standards
Stay current with aquatics, coaching techniques, and industry best practices
Attend swim team meetings and assist with administrative and coaching responsibilities as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education, experience, and qualifications: Must be a minimum of 17 years old. Minimum two years’ experience in swim team coaching. Experience leading swim team practices. Current certification in USA Swim Coaching.
Category: Parks & Recreation. Status: Open. Salary: $18-$25 per hour based on certifications and experience.
