Safety & Sustainability Intern (Summer 2026)
The Safety & Sustainability Intern will support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Sustainable Development initiatives during Summer 2026. The role provides exposure to operational safety programs, environmental performance tracking, and sustainability initiatives across a national logistics network.
Responsibilities
Support safety data collection, analysis, and documentation
Assist with safety communications, training materials, and program documentation
Utilize the safety culture application to enter various safety audits
Support tracking and analysis of sustainability metrics (energy, emissions, water, waste)
Assist with sustainability reporting, dashboards, and internal summaries
Support waste reduction and food rescue initiatives
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, HR, and corporate teams
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifics
Location: Camden, NJ, Engineering Department
Reports To: Sustainable Development Manager
Travel: Less than 10%
Job Type: Part-Time

Pay: Hourly, biweekly, $19.00/hour
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Safety, Engineering, Public Health, Business, or related field.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Interest in safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework or experience related to EHS or sustainability.
Familiarity with sustainability metrics or safety management systems.
Other Abilities
Physical effort associated with using a computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
Effective communication, vision, and hearing are essential for safety and productivity.
Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other essential warehouse equipment as required.
Additional work hours may be requested by management to help manage employee production, projects or special events.
Operate a registered motor vehicle if part of daily tasks.
Engage in frequent personal interaction and communication.
Possess strong arithmetic and reading skills.
Follow verbal and written instructions and company policies.
Be a self-starter, able to work independently and coordinate with others.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and meeting productivity guidelines.
