Salary and Classification
Salary Grade: 19; Salary Range: $70,579 to $89,645 annually; Class: Non‑competitive; Appointment: Permanent; Full-time.

Work Schedule
Mon‑Fri, 40 hours per week, 6 AM to 6 PM; no flextime, overtime, compressed week, or telecommuting.

Duties
Central New York Psychiatric Center – Mid-State Satellite Unit is recruiting for a Rehabilitation Counselor 2 to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness.

Assess individuals’ rehabilitative needs and coordinate necessary psychosocial, educational, or vocational services.

Monitor and document progress toward established goals and objectives.

Determine what changes have occurred as a result of the treatment plan.

Assure compliance with record‑keeping requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates may qualify under different pathways.

Bachelor’s degree in a human service field and 3 years of professional experience providing vocational, psychosocial, or rehabilitative services in an agency primarily serving individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or addictions.

Master’s degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.

Transfer candidates from State Service with one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service as Rehabilitation Counselor 1.

Competitive class appointment if reachable on current Rehabilitation Counselor 2 eligible list.

Non‑competitive promotion examination available to eligible workers; must meet minimum qualifications and promotion requirements.
