
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Manage and expend operating and scholarship budget. Recruit competitive student-athletes on local, regional, state and national levels.
Specific Position Duties
Assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in the daily management and overall operation of the women’s basketball program, including but not limited to:
Recruiting prospective student-athletes.
Recruiting and supporting international student-athletes.
Coordinating team travel arrangements.
Assisting with practice planning, preparation, and competition supervision.
Monitoring student-athletes in the dormitory and cafeteria as needed.
Serve as an academic mentor for student-athletes by:
Monitoring academic progress and maintaining regular communication with instructors as needed.
Assisting with academic advisement and course registration.
Supervising study sessions to promote academic success.
Coordinating tutoring services and academic support resources.
Serve as an instructor for Physical Education and Super Circuit activity classes as assigned.
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification, or obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
Assist with fundraising activities, community outreach, and promotional events for the women’s basketball program and athletic department.
Support compliance with institutional, conference, and NJCAA policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and/or Athletic Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field required.
Experience in basketball through collegiate participation, coaching, or a combination of both preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of basketball fundamentals, player development, and team strategy.
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills with the ability to work effectively with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to support the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes while promoting a positive team culture.
