Job Description
Elementary Vocal Music Educator (Grades K-2): The Voice of Joy. Location: Central Primary School (Grades K-2). Year: 2026-2027 School Year.
In our primary buildings, music is more than a subject—it’s a language. We are looking for a vibrant, creative Vocal Music Teacher to turn a classroom into a world of rhythm, melody, and movement.
Role Summary
As a Primary Vocal Music Teacher, you will lead the music program within one of our seven dedicated primary schools (PreK-2), facilitating a high-energy, student-centered environment that focuses on foundational vocal technique, steady beat, and creative play. You will collaborate with families and colleagues to create a joyful learning experience that builds confidence in our youngest scholars.
Qualifications
Certified Professional:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Music (K-12).
Degree Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required; Master’s degree, preferred.
Early Childhood Specialist:
Understanding developmental needs of 5-to-8-year-olds and engaging them through movement and play-based learning.
Equity Champion:
Commitment to a diverse repertoire that reflects the cultures and backgrounds of our students.
STEAM-Ready:
Excitement to explore the science of sound and rhythm patterns with learners.
Key Duties
Inspire Harmony:
Design and deliver engaging lessons that focus on matching pitch, rhythmic accuracy, and the joy of singing.
Move & Groove:
Incorporate Orff, Kodály, or other active music-making philosophies to keep students physically engaged.
Utilize Resources:
Leverage district assets such as Little Creek Nature Area to explore music of the natural world.
Collaborate:
Partner with Grade-Level PLCs to integrate music with literacy and social-emotional learning goals.
Showcase Success:
Coordinate "Informance" events and school-wide programs that celebrate student growth.

Work Year:
10-Month Academic Calendar, 187 Contract Days
Salary:
Determined by Teacher Salary Schedule, based on experience and education.
Salary Range:
$43,000 to $71,946 A
