SUMMARY
Harris Teeter provides training to all associates who have extensive customer contact. This full-time position focuses on delivering excellent customer service, ensuring that each customer’s needs are satisfied and expectations are exceeded. The role involves downloading internet orders, loading customer vehicles, and during downtime performing bagger and/or cashier duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Take excellent care of customers by providing courteous, friendly, and prompt service.

Download and shop internet orders according to company policies and procedures.

Operate the point of sale register, bag orders, stage orders, and load grocery orders.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with health department requirements and company sanitation procedures.

Communicate with customers, store associates, and corporate office regarding requests, sales promotions, and inventory status.

Resolve customer concerns by directing unsatisfactory requests to management.

Assist fellow associates in completing daily tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.

Follow all safety regulations and report hazards; record accidents in the designated log.

Perform fixed activities during light business periods (sweeping, cleaning, blocking, straightening).

PERSONAL SKILLS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to participate in required training and work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence in English; ability to present information to customers, clients, and associates who speak only English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and calculate discount percentages using U.S. currency.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license, be bondable, and complete company training (orientation, customer service, safety, bagger and cashier technical skills, and product knowledge).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lift up to 25 pounds frequently; intermittently lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.

Stand, walk, use hands, reach, and manipulate objects throughout the shift.

Use vision for close work and depth perception.

Work in wet, humid, or cold conditions; occasional exposure to fumes and chemicals; moderate noise level.
