Pay & Hours
Pay grade 4: $17.83 per hour (plus consideration based on experience) with a comprehensive benefit package. Work hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities
Performs clerical and semi‑clerical tasks (e.g., schedules/answers telephones; as primary back‑up to the main reception and greets visitors; types letters, reports, and correspondence; prepares and maintains personnel files; obtains birth certificates and/or social security cards from applicable authorities [Health Department, Social Security Administration]; obtains credit reports for children in Agency custody and monitors credit as needed; completes Medical/Educational SACWIS data entry for case files and digital imaging in Traverse).
Serves as RMS (Random Moment Sample) Coordinator that reviews and assists in the process of Random Moment Sampling from staff through various times and fiscal quarters. Verifies information as it relates to allocated cost pool expenditures. Coordinator also monitors and validates observations, creates and closes quarterly samples, maintains RMS rosters and work schedules, and trains participants on RMS regularly.
Completes payroll processing under the direction of the Finance Director (e.g., performs payroll‑balancing including but not limited to accrual reports; approves payroll; enters information in applicable computer program [Excel, New World, and any other payroll system]; sends/transmits required documentation/information to the County Auditor’s Office; etc.).
Enters information for placement/home studies in applicable computer program (SACWIS) and coordinates with Kinship Coordinator as needed. Assists in the administration of the Kinship Permanency Incentive Program (KPIP) (e.g., tracks KPIP payments, prepares and mails letters enclosing applications and all other relevant material, prepares copies for file, enters application data/information and generates payments in applicable computer program [SACWIS], prepares and mails approval letter, answers general questions as needed related to KPIP; etc.).
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, with training and/or work experience which evidences a thorough knowledge of Agency operations, modern office practices and procedures and computer operation; Associate’s Degree in a relevant field, preferred; or any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Be self‑motivated and able to handle a schedule of conflicting demands.
Be able to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
Be able to deal with problems involving several variables within a familiar context; add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers; copy records precisely without error.
Be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Licensure or Certification Requirements
Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license, maintain insurability under the County’s vehicle insurance policy, and pass a post‑offer drug screen, physical and BCI fingerprint background check.
