Service Delivery Coordinator – Aquatics
at the Midlothian Family YMCA.
This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys developing people, and is committed to creating safe, high‑quality aquatic experiences for all.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily aquatic operations during assigned shifts, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and outstanding member and staff experiences
Manage staff scheduling to ensure coverage while maintaining a standard 40‑hour workweek
Provide hands‑on program delivery by lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons up to 35 hours per week
Serve as a visible leader on deck, modeling YMCA standards and best practices
Ensure all aquatic facilities, equipment, and program spaces—including pump room operations—are safe, clean, and well‑maintained
Uphold all safety protocols and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing supervision of aquatic staff, including lifeguards and swim instructors
Contribute to in‑service trainings and continuous improvement efforts
Maintain schedule flexibility, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of one year of aquatics‑related experience
Current Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications preferred (must obtain and maintain required certifications)
Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to organize, multitask, and adapt in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
Proficiency with PC‑based applications and scheduling tools
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and support multiple program areas
