Fire Alarm Service/Install Technician at Oliver Fire Protection & Security

Location:

Central/North New Jersey

Responsibilities

All aspects of service on fire alarm systems including device replacement, wiring repairs, circuit troubleshooting, etc.

Program fire alarm system per the specifications and design while meeting NFPA 72 code requirements.

Installation of fire alarm systems including wire runs, conduit installation, and device mounting.

Perform NFPA 72 inspection/testing of all fire alarm systems on a frequency basis. Complete required paperwork in a timely manner for submission.

Perform service calls and repair work on existing fire alarm systems. Complete all necessary paperwork related to performing service in a timely manner.

Participate in the on-call schedule for after-hours services.

Present self to all customers in a professional manner to help create and maintain good customer relations.

Participate in education and training classes.

Normal hours of operation 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, subject to change depending on customers’ requests.

Company vehicles are provided to technicians once able to perform work independently as a lead technician.

Requirements

Proficient in installation methods, materials, fire and building codes, and design standards.

Knowledge of panel programming software (not brand specific).

Valid driver’s license.

Computer literate.

Experience preferred but not required.

Entry‑level applications will also be considered for employment. Training will be provided to advance your abilities toward a lead technician over time.

Salary
Entry‑level positions beginning salary at $15.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience level for more seasoned technicians.
