Inventory Supervisor
to join our dedicated team in
Gastonia, NC . In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing supply chain capabilities to support business growth. This role oversees world‑class inventory management and materials movement practices, including building and improving processes, implementing new systems, and leading monthly inventory counts. Additionally, the supervisor conducts root cause analysis on inventory variances, enforces FIFO procedures, participates in accounting audits, and recommends warehouse layout improvements to drive overall performance.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 2nd shift overlap as needed
Responsibilities
Oversee the 2nd Shift Inventory Lead, including providing guidance and support as needed; role may require flexibility to work or support 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift hours
Oversee and coordinate monthly inventory counts to ensure accuracy and compliance
Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory integrity in alignment with established procedures
Lead Logistics team participation during annual accounting audits
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root‑cause analysis
Develop, implement, and enforce processes to ensure FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) compliance, including optimized putaway and picking procedures
Identify and remove expired or obsolete materials in accordance with company standards
Analyze trends in expiring inventory and drive process improvements to reduce waste
Evaluate inventory movement and recommend layout improvements to increase operational efficiency, including management of heat‑mapping tools
Support the implementation of new inventory systems and scanning technologies to enhance tracking and accuracy
Partner with Logistics and Inventory Control leadership to develop, document, and execute inventory control programs
Deliver initial and ongoing training to employees to promote best practices and maintain inventory accuracy
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
3–5 years of broad Supply Chain experience in areas such as Inventory Control, Operations, and/or Continuous Improvement, including 2+ years with inventory control responsibilities
Proficient in Excel for inventory tracking, data analysis, and reporting
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to support and guide peers
Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy
Self‑motivated with a sense of urgency; able to work independently with minimal supervision
Capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb as needed
